We run training programs throughout the year to offer camaraderie, structure, skill-building clinics, and support to runners and walkers of all levels.
These coached programs include individual instruction; group runs; custom training plans; seminars on stretching, nutrition, cross-training, and form; race preparation and support; and a lot of fun! The classes run for four to 18 weeks. Most are directed toward specific goal races.
2018 TRAINING CLASSES
Off the Couch
Starts January 8; $75. This beginners fitness class covers training fundamentals to get you started on your fittest year yet. Training on warm-ups, cool-downs, injury prevention, running form, and designing training plans to meet individual needs. Meets Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. for one month (eight sessions). January 8 - January 31. Learn more and sign up here.
Spring Half-Marathon Team Targeting Capitola Half
Starts February 27; $200. This class focuses on endurance training to build to the half-marathon distance. Tuesday nights are skill and strength sessions; Saturdays are the long run of the week. Cross training classes are offered Wednesday mornings. Target race is the Capitola Half Marathon on May 20. Meets for group runs Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 7:30 a.m.; cross-training classes offered Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. February 27 - May 20. Learn more and sign up here.
Getting Started Running: Train for a 5K
Starts February 26; $200. For beginning and reentry runners wanting to train for a 5K race. Group runs on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Seminars on running form, injury prevention, improving speed, and nutrition/hydration. Goal race is the Menlo-Atherton Big Bear Run on May 6. Meets Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Cross-training classes offered Wednesday mornings at 8:30 a.m. Learn more and sign up here.
Starts in May; $200. This trail running class targets a trail 10K race in July. Meets Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Trail Half-Marathon Class
Starts in May; $200. This distance trail running class targets a trail half-marathon in July. Meets Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Trail Marathon Class
Starts in July; $200. This distance trail running class targets a trail marathon in October. Meets Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Running is more fun with Fleet Feet!
As well, our Thursday fun runs meet every Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. The free, drop-in group runs vary from 3- to 6-mile routes around Menlo Park and Atherton.
